Top 10 cheapest cars to insure for young drivers
It's something we all know: car ownership isn't always the cheapest luxury. From keeping it well-maintained to insuring it, it can really add up.
This got us thinking, what exactly are the cheapest cars for drivers under the age of 25 insure? We teamed up with some of the analysts on Diamond's Pricing team to find out.
As brilliant as they are, our pricing analysts weren't able to exactly pin down every perfect car insurance scenario for every young driver. However, they were able to help us determine a list of the top 10 cheapest cars on average for drivers who are under the age of 25 between January and June 2016.
1. Hyundai i20 average price £520.44 per year
Number one on our list, the Hyundai i20 gives you the best of both worlds. Thanks to its practical fuel efficiency we found that it's quite easy on your wallet, yet you still have the convenience of a spacious hatchback family car. With plenty of room in the boot for even the largest of cargo, this city car also has superior driver and passenger comfort.
2. Volkswagen Fox average price £556.50 per year
Since it's one of the cheapest VWs on the market, we're not surprised that the number two position is the VW Fox. It may have been discontinued in 2010, but there are still plenty around to purchase.
3. Fiat Panda average price £574.62 per year
The popular Fiat Panda comes in at number 3 on our list. For those looking for a practical small car that's also quite cheap to own and run, this fun city car is an ideal choice. With its tall body, there's a good amount of interior space and there are also plenty of customizations and engines to choose from as well.
4. Peugeot 107 average price £590.53 per year
Reliable and safe, the Peugeot 107 is every city-dwellers dream car. It's not a surprise that it is number four, as it's not only a fun car to drive, but it's also incredibly affordable to maintain. Ideal for young drivers as they're affordably priced, the Peugeot 107 drives well and has superior handling skills as well.

We're not shocked that Fiat is seen twice on this list, as they are now becoming one of the more popular cars among many young drivers. The 500 gives drivers something that has the look of a retro car, but doesn't have the burden of unreliability and expensive parts.
7. Nissan Qashqai average price £603.00 per year
